Remembering Martha Sears
I first learned about Martha Sears when I became a new first time mom. I read several of her and her husband’s books, and I really liked her approach to parenting. Martha passed away in late July of this year. She was a mom of eight children, a grandma, a registered nurse, and a lactation consultant! She was very devoted to her family and helping moms enjoy mothering!
If you are looking for evidence based information on breastfeeding or parenting info, the Ask Dr Sears website is a great place to go. Martha used to write a regular column for it, too.
If you would like to read some of the books Martha co-authored, here are a few of them:
The Breastfeeding Book - CNML uses this book in its mentor program
The Discipline Book - while writing this article, I discovered that this is the first Sears book I bought
The Sears’ Baby Book - I used a previous edition of this book as a reference throughout the CNML book
The Healthy Motherhood Journal
